Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only one to achieve closing poker table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a large pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest gamblers around the world. While participating in online poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be one of the best players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I believe television can alter our view of the real world at times. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha high and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
