Internet poker has become world famous recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the original poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or other types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the other players acquire five cards each. After you have observed your hand and the casino’s initial card, you need to either make a call wager or give up. The call bet’s amount is equal to your beginning bet, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your wager goes directly to the house. After the bet is the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with a sum on par with the original wager. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The dealer pays out money even with your original bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
